Meet Dr. Chegini

Dr. Hesum Chegini completed his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Maryland and is board-certified in both Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. A Virginia native, Dr. Chegini dedicated nearly a decade to providing exceptional rheumatologic care in Maryland after completing his training. He was affiliated with Washington Hospital Center, Holy Cross Hospital, and Suburban Hospital. Additionally, he served as an adjunct faculty member in Medicine for Kaiser Permanente, mentoring residents and physicians in training.

From 2017 to 2019, Dr. Chegini was an Executive Board Member of the Montgomery County Medical Society, where he actively advocated for both physicians and patients. His contributions to the medical community were recognized for their impact and dedication.
 With extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of autoimmune rheumatic diseases, as well as conditions affecting the joints, muscles, tendons, and bones, Dr. Chegini is committed to providing patient-centered care. He believes in working closely with each individual to develop personalized treatment plans that promote recovery and long-term well- being.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Chegini. I have spent 20+ years trying to figure out what was wrong with me and during my first visit with Dr. Chegini, he was able to diagnose me. It did help that I already had imaging and blood work completed but it all seemed clear as day to him. He took his time during my initial visit and put a plan in place. He has been extremely helpful and compassionate which is not something I've found often with doctors. I am sad that he is leaving his current practice but those in VA will be lucky to have him as their doctor.
